Choosing a digital marketing agency in Egypt: write the brief before comparing proposals

Agency proposals are difficult to compare when each supplier is solving a different problem. For a business in Egypt, a useful marketing brief makes the commercial objective, market, language, delivery scope and financial terms explicit before a monthly package is selected.

Discuss your growth priority

Describe the customer and the buying problem

Name the product or service, the buyer who approves it and the geographical area you can serve. An Egypt-only local service needs a different offer and sales handover from an Egyptian business selling to companies in Saudi Arabia or the UAE.

Include the next customer decision you want to support: request a quote, arrange a consultation or assess a specific project. Avoid a brief that asks for awareness, leads and sales without agreeing which outcome takes priority.

Bring evidence, not only a target

Share the relevant service pages, common buyer objections and examples of suitable enquiries. Use aggregated evidence where possible; there is no need to circulate a customer contact list simply to compare proposals.

Ask what can be learned from existing Search Console and Analytics access before commissioning a new website or more articles. A useful proposal distinguishes an observed problem from a hypothesis that still needs testing.

  • List the services the business can deliver profitably.
  • Identify which enquiries are unsuitable and why.
  • Explain who responds to an enquiry and how the next step is recorded.

Make scope and commercial terms comparable

Separate management fees, content production, website work, software subscriptions and any future media budget. Specify the invoice currency, payment timing and what happens when scope changes. If quotes use EGP and USD, compare them using a stated date and agreed conversion basis rather than assuming exchange rates remain fixed.

For each deliverable, ask what is included: number of channels, languages, revisions, page ownership and support. A low headline retainer can cover a narrower service than the proposal beside it. Do not compare totals until the underlying scope is clear.

Keep the business in control of its assets

Agree that the business has appropriate ownership and access to its domain, website, analytics property, advertising accounts and creative assets. Use normal role-based invitations; do not share passwords as the routine onboarding method.

Ask for the handover process before work begins. Record how tracking changes are documented, where approved source files are stored and what assistance is included if the engagement ends.

Agree the first review before the first invoice

The first review should show completed setup work, evidence from the customer journey and the next decisions. Distinguish contact clicks from valid submissions and qualified opportunities. A report with more events is not automatically a report with more potential clients.

Compare proposals against the same short brief. Request a stated assumption, owner and acceptance check for each priority. Prefer a bounded first phase that resolves a real gap over a long list of activities with no agreed purpose.

Frequently asked questions

Should we choose the lowest monthly quote?

Only after comparing the same scope, responsibilities and exclusions. Price alone does not show what will be delivered or how enquiries will be handled.

Does an Egypt business need a separate website for every GCC country?

Not automatically. Start with the actual markets served and meaningful differences in the buyer journey, language, offer and delivery.
